Outpatient Treatment at CenterPointe

CenterPointe provides a continuum of mental health and addiction treatment services including outpatient care designed to help patients progress to the least restrictive level of care necessary to address their treatment needs. Individuals who do not require the 24-hour structure and supervision of an inpatient or residential treatment program may be appropriate for outpatient care depending upon the:

  • severity of the illness or addiction
  • support from home, work or other settings
  • other factors determined during assessment/evaluation.

CenterPointe’s outpatient programs offer the same quality care, information, education and opportunity for recovery as inpatient treatment and can be an effective alternative to an inpatient or residential stay. Outpatient care may be used as the point of entry for behavioral health treatment or as a step-down or transition to a less restrictive level of care. At the time of assessment or admission, the admitting psychiatrist and CenterPointe assessment team determine placement in the appropriate level of care based on each patient’s individual needs.
Outpatient assessment and treatment services are provided at the main St. Charles location as well as numerous satellite locations throughout Missouri and Illinois:

  • West St. Louis County.
  • South St. Louis County.
  • St. Peters, MO.
  • Washington, MO.

Outpatient Addiction Treatment Care with Housing Options

CenterPointe recently introduced two new levels of addiction outpatient care that include housing options within the Addiction Treatment Center:

Residential Outpatient Care

Patients receiving treatment for addiction to alcohol or other drugs in CenterPointe’s PHP or IOP who do not require the intensity of treatment on the Residential Unit but need overnight lodging, may be eligible for supported housing at CenterPointe. This level of care provides lodging on the Residential Unit, as well as some additional therapeutic, support and activity services.

Extended Care

CenterPointe offers care for patients who have completed addiction treatment at CenterPointe or are maintaining sobriety and working toward continuing recovery, but require overnight housing and the support of continuing care. Patients in Extended Care receive treatment and therapeutic services, often maintain their employment commitment and have a lodging on the Residential Unit for overnight stays.
