St. Charles, MO: On Saturday, May 6th, Team CenterPointe Hospital, comprised of 30 walkers, participated in the St. Louis National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk 2017. With the theme, “The words mental illness do not define YOU”, the CenterPointe team promoted a positive of message that, with proper treatment and support, individuals can realize their full potential, cope with the stresses of life, work productively and contribute meaningfully to the world.
The NAMI Walk was held at the beautiful Chesterfield Central Park and amphitheater where over 700 participants walked to celebrate recovery, combat stigma, and raise funds to support local organizations. NAMI provides peer-led support groups, family support groups, educational classes and information on mental health at no cost to individuals and family members affected by a mental health condition.
