PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This seminar will be an informative and experiential training on an evidence-based approach for treating depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. Participants will learn what MBCBT is and how it is used in treatment, experience meditations and activities that you can use yourself to manage stress as well as teach others, and understand how MBCBT is not a relaxation strategy, but rather a way to respond to thoughts and emotions in healthier ways.

CEUs: 1.5 contact hours will be awarded to Missouri Social Workers, Counselors & Addiction Counselors. All participants will receive a certificate of completion to submit to their respective licensing boards.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dr. Chackes is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults with anxiety and related disorders.

Dr. Chackes received her Doctorate Degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago in 2005, and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI)’s Anxiety Disorders Center.

Dr. Chackes continued to work as a staff psychologist at the Anxiety Disorders Center for six years before establishing a private practice at Clayton Behavioral for several years.

Dr. Chackes later founded The Mindfulness Center for CBT which offers a wide array of evidenced-based therapies for treating anxiety and related disorders.
