PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) has proven to be very effective in treating depression and other treatment resistant disorders. This lecture will provide an overview of TMS and how it works, criteria for how to select appropriate candidates for treatment and treatment outcomes.

CEUs: 1.5 CEUs will be awarded to Missouri Social Workers and Missouri Addiction Counselors at the completion of the lecture. A Certificate of Attendance verifying 1.5 clock hours will be awarded to other disciplines to submit to their respective licensing boards.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Satish Kulkarni, MD provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at CenterPointe Hospital and he is also the Medical Director of the Progressive Partial Hospitalization Program at CenterPointe.

Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as by the American Board of Acupuncture Medicine, Dr. Kulkarni earned his medical degree in 1972.

Dr. Kulnarni has extensive experience in treating psychiatric disorders and has served as Medical Director for several leading medical hospitals in Missouri and Indiana. He served as the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles in the mid-90’s.
